A good rule of thumb to follow is to back up (make copies of) files of importance. If you have financial, legal, or genealogical files on your PC -- anything that you would rather not be without -- then create extra copies through regular backups. With XKat this is easy. If you have a home network, you can use XKat to backup files between computers. If one PC fails, the other PC will have a backup of your files. You can also use XKat to copy files to a diskette or a portable drive, such as a thumb drive.

Most Internet Service Providers provide account holders with disk space on their servers as well as Web and email access. You can take advantage of this space by uploading and downloading files to your ISP using XKat -- either by automating the process using XKat jobs and tasks or simply by using XKat's FTP-Windows Explorer. The FTP-Windows Explorer allows you to visually drag, drop, copy, and paste files to and from an Internet computer. Simple.
